Despite the lowering of the river level: municipalities remain on alert
The levels of the Ottawa River are declining, which has not had an effect on municipalities from being vigilant and continuing to monitor the situation very closely. In Mansfield, the municipality reminded its’ residents, this week, that it is essential not to forget that, even though water levels are receding, many residents still rely on their dikes to save what they can. Therefore, all vehicles near the affected homes must be carefully manoeuvred. The municipality explained that it has received complaints about boats speeding near chemin de La Passe. For other municipalities such as Campbell’s Bay, affected residents are reminded of the importance of opening their file with the Québec Ministry of Public Security for financial assistance from the government;
