Despite late start to season Ski Pontiac plows ahead
Local non-profit group Ski Pontiac had a bit of a late opening of their trails at Astra Estates in Bristol earlier this month, but are gearing up for their biggest event of the year, the moonlight ski and snowshoe.
President Ariane Cloutier explained that the weather this year had cut their season short, as they usually start grooming their trail in early January but only started in February this year. She said that they have increased their trail length slightly to 4 km, and changed the location of their trailhead.
She spoke about the moonlight event they have coming up this Saturday February 15 at 6 p.m. There will be both skis and snowshoes available for free and Cloutier said that they typically have around 200 people in attendance.
Ski Pontiac’s AGM is also approaching on February 22 at 10 a.m. More information is available on their website.
