The MRC Pontiac has hired a consultant whose mandate will be to attract businesses to the region. David Cyr was selected to fulfill these functions. Coming from the business world, Mr. Cyr has worked in the public and private sectors for nearly 30 years before joining the municipal world in economic development. He founded six SMEs in tourism, hospitality, retail and events. He is under contract with the MRC Pontiac until next December.

“Attracting businesses is a lifelong endeavor, which requires experience and expertise. I am convinced that Mr. Cyr will use his many years of experience in the public and private sectors to promote business development in the Pontiac, ”explained Director of Economic Development, Cyndy Phillips.

David Cyr’s job will consist of attracting businesses, but his mission will also be to support and advise entrepreneurs, whether for the consolidation of their achievements, in the expansion phases or even for support in the sale or the succession of their business.

“I am an entrepreneur at heart and contributing to the economic vitality of the Pontiac represents a magnificent opportunity. Motivated by challenges and innovation, I can only see that the region’s potential and geographic location make it a playground that offers tremendous growth opportunities, ”said David Cyr.
