Cyndy Phillips discusses her departure from economic development department

10 May 2022 à 12:00 am

On Thursday last week, MRC Pontiac announced that their economic development director Cyndy Phillips would be stepping down from her role, effective May 27. Phillips was hired on as the head of the department in February 2020, taking over from Danielle Newman, who herself left the MRC in January 2020. She is the third economic development director at the MRC in the last four years, as Emilie Chazelas, who held the position before Newman, resigned from the post in May 2018.

Phillips spoke with CHIP 101.9 today to discuss her departure, a decision she said was made for personal reasons.

Phillips said that taking over just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic was a difficult challenge to overcome.

She explained that she was in the process of putting together a transition document to help her successor step into the role seamlessly.
