CULTURE OUTAOUAIS REVIEWS ITS 2025–2026 YEAR

Culture Outaouais held its annual general meeting on September 22nd at the Minotaure in Gatineau. The organization took the opportunity to present its report on the 2025–2026 fiscal year, as well as its projects and priorities for the coming year. The past year was notably marked by several consultations with artists and cultural organizations in the Outaouais region.

Culture Outaouais conducted three studies to better understand the community’s needs and priorities, particularly regarding private funding for the arts, professional development, and issues related to the region’s cross-border nature.

The organization now has 318 active members, including 70 new members who joined over the past year.

Culture Outaouais also helped secure $472,000 in funding for 14 artists and 12 arts organizations under the Outaouais Territorial Partnership Agreement.

In terms of support services, 2,013 hours of consultation were provided to 35 organizations as part of the Tremplin initiative.

The organization also provided 243 hours of training to 211 participants over the course of the year.

Other highlights included a partnership with Tourisme Outaouais to promote cultural tourism and the “Tout culture” hub, which made it possible to list some 900 events on the region’s cultural calendar.

Culture Outaouais also hosted the 26th edition of the Les Culturiades gala, during which eight awards totaling $24,000 were presented to recognize excellence in the regional cultural sector.

In terms of advocacy, the organization also reported 28 media appearances related to its priority issues and the launch of a platform featuring 23 cultural proposals for the 2025 municipal elections.

Finally, the general assembly resulted in the renewal of part of the board of directors. Jonathan Fortier and Lisanne Rheault-Leblanc have joined the board.
