Connexion Fibre Picanoc (CFP) confirmed that the general manager of the MRC Pontiac, Bernard Roy, has stepped down as president of the Connexion Fibre Picanoc board of directors. On the other hand, the CFP Board of Directors says it is still very active for the continuity of operations despite the most recent changes and news from the provincial and federal government which announced contracts to Bell, COGECO and Xplornet in the Outaouais, in order to connect the whole households in the region.

Connexion Fibre Picanoc (CFP) says it has analyzed the various avenues since the joint announcement of the two government authorities for the Canada-Quebec High Speed Operation aimed at connecting nearly 150,000 households to high speed Internet by September 2022. Currently, CFP intends to meet with governments in order to determine if the organization can bring its expertise and pursue its mission to collaborate in the deployment of high speed Internet services to connect the underserved homes of the MRC Pontiac and the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau.

The members of the board of directors wish to learn about the various possibilities and will share the information with the population at the appropriate time. They also specified that they would not grant an interview on the subject.

CFP is a non-profit corporation created by two MRCs and two school boards that manages and operates a fiber-optic communications network of approximately 500 km.
