Confirmed cases of COVID-19 – May 19th, 2020
The Outaouais region has so far reported 426 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the crisis, 22 more since yesterday. The Pontiac local service network (RLS) still has 5 cases or less, all located in the municipality of Pontiac. No case has been identified in the MRC Pontiac.
Le Droit reported on Tuesday that Walmart employees located on boulevard de La Gappe, in Gatineau, contracted COVID-19. The store was closed for the day, the time to clean up the place.
The number of hospitalizations at the COVID-19 designated center in Gatineau is 11, one of whom is in the intensive care unit. Of the 426 people infected with the virus, 258 have recovered and 157 identified cases are still active. There are 11 deaths in the region.
At the provincial level, Quebec Premier, François Legault, announced a total of 44,197 confirmed cases (+570 in the past 24 hours), 3,647 deaths (+51 in the past 24 hours) and that at least 12,500 people affected initially are now cured. .
