Communities honored at the 2026 Municipal Merit Awards

The 2026 Municipal Merit Awards ceremony took place last night, an event that highlights commitment and innovation within communities across Quebec.

On this occasion, several municipalities, organizations, and citizens were honored for their initiatives aimed at sustainably improving quality of life in their communities. The award-winning projects reflect a shared commitment to building more dynamic, inclusive, and resilient communities.

Among the recipients were the Municipality of Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, the City of Repentigny, the City of Candiac, the City of Québec, the City of Rouyn-Noranda, the Pontiac MRC, the City of Montréal, the Municipality of Sainte-Hélène-de-Kamouraska, the Lotbinière Agri-Food Hub solidarity cooperative, and the Municipality of Lotbinière.

The organizers highlighted the remarkable work of the finalists and winners, whose achievements demonstrate the key role of local initiatives in community development. Their contributions show that innovation, collaboration, and civic engagement are at the heart of solutions to today’s challenges.
