Cold warning in effect for Pontiac

14 January 2022 à 12:00 am

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold alert for the Pontiac region for the 14 and 15 of January. Episodes of very cold wind chills, getting down to -38 and -41 degrees are expected Friday night.

“Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter. Keep dry to stay warmer. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia,” the statement reads.
