Clarendon family of seven loses home, pets to fire
A Clarendon family of seven is without a home and lost several pets following a blaze at a residence on the 11th Concession on Saturday.
Shawville Clarendon Fire Chief Lee Laframboise said that his department received the call at around 11:45 a.m. for a building on fire and responded with 13 firefighters and four trucks. Laframboise said that the house was fully engulfed when they arrived and though they were battling strong winds, managed to get the situation under control in roughly four hours. The home was a complete loss.
A Gofundme was started by Joshua Boyce, who wrote in the description that the home was owned by his girlfriend’s parents for 65 years. The house was occupied by four adults and three children, but they all escaped without physical injuries. He added that they had lost four pets in the fire.
