The Centre de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais is gradually resuming its ambulatory activities in its hospitals, such as surgery, endoscopy, oncology, medical imaging services as well as various ambulatory clinics, including outpatient medical clinics, orthopedics, physiotherapy, audiology , pediatrics, center of expertise in chronic diseases, etc.

The population is encouraged to go to appointments and scheduled to follow up with health professionals. Several health and safety measures following public health directives have been deployed:
– Revision of the layout of our waiting rooms, examination rooms and therapy rooms;
– Implementation of dedicated security corridors and elevators eliminating contact between users who are carriers or at risk of COVID-19 and other users;
– Presence of service assistants in large waiting rooms in Hull and Gatineau and in areas where customers are more vulnerable;
– Increased cleaning of premises and equipment between each user.

Depending on the clinic, various methods are available to the population:
– Some consultations continue by telehealth;
– Need for a face-to-face appointment determined by the doctor or the professional;
– Screening questionnaire in connection with COVID-19 by phone before the appointment;
– Screening questionnaire at the entrance to hospitals;
– Mandatory hand washing and wearing of the mask strongly encouraged;
– Individualized support for users at risk or carriers of COVID-19 in order to ensure that all public health rules are followed during their visit to the hospital.
