CISSSO advises residents on changes to visitor policy
Regional Health Authority CISSSO is advising residents that starting this Friday (October 15), proof of vaccination will be required for certain visitors. In a statement, they noted that this will not apply to anyone receiving health or social services at any of their facilities, with or without an appointment. They also listed the following exemptions for visitors:
– anyone accompanying someone who is under 14 or otherwise unable to give consent to care
– anyone visiting a loved one at the end of their life
– the parent, guardian of a child in a rehabilitation facility, or someone with court-ordered visitation rights
– anyone accompanying someone who, because of their health require assistance that can’t be provided by the community
– a peace officer or firefighter who needs to enter the facility to carry out their job
Visitors can show their proof of vaccination via print or electronic means.
