CISSS de l’Outaouais reinstates visits starting tomorrow
Regional health authority CISSSO issued a press release today advising the public that they would be changing their protocol surrounding hospital visits, which were restricted in mid-April. General visits will return to their regular schedule tomorrow, with some conditions.
“For the sectors of oncology, hemodialysis, intensive care and neonatology, stricter instructions continue to apply,” the release states (translated). “For these sectors, only family caregivers are admitted.”
At the moment, the page of guidelines and information that they provide for caregivers is only available in French, though media relations agent Camille Brochu-Lafrance told CHIP 101.9 that it would be translated “soon”.
“Visits also remain prohibited in outbreak environments and units. Only caregivers are allowed in these sectors affected by Covid-19 in compliance with the applicable measures,” the statement continues (translated). “We remind the population of the importance of respecting infection prevention and control measures (washing hands, wearing a mask, etc.) during your visits to hospitals.”
