The CISSSO held an exchange forum Monday as part of its annual Board of directors information tour. During the event, the board members touched on the regional accomplishments during the most recent year.

Among the issues affecting the Pontiac region is the introduction of the hemodialysis system and the reopening of the cafeteria at Shawville Hospital. The chief executive officer (CEO) of the CISSSO, Josée Filion:

The CISSSO also took advantage of the event to unveil details of its most recent financial report, which shows a deficit of $381,695 for 2018-2019. According to Filion, the deficit is explained by the rise in expenses on drugs and salary insurance.

The CISSSO’s priorities for 2019-2020 include balancing the budget, as well as opening, in the summer of 2020, of the University McGill’s Outaouais Campus at the Gatineau Hospital, which would allow the CISSSO to acquire recognition of the university status as the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS).
