Centraide Outaouais appoint Cédric Tessier as new Director General

The chair of Centraide Outaouais’ board of directors, Élaine Dupras, announced that Cédric Tessier would be appointed as the organization’s new executive director. Tessier had at the helme of the organization as Acting Director since November.

In making the announcement, Dupras emphasized the confidence the Board has in Tessier ability to run the organization effectively: “As part of his duties as interim CEO, Mr. Tessier has demonstrated his leadership qualities, his ability to listening, openness and agility. We are very pleased to welcome him to this position especially with Centraide Outaouais implementing a new strategic plan. We will benefit from his knowledge of the Outaouais region, his network and his professional qualities to achieve new ambitions for the organization. On my behalf of the board members, I would like to welcome him and wish him success in the mission entrusted to him for an inclusive society without poverty in the Outaouais community,” Dupras said.

Cédric Tessier joined Centraide Outaouais as deputy director general in September 2022, before being given the position of interim director general upon the departure of his predecessor, in November 2022. He previously held the position of municipal councilor in the City of Gatineau for eight years.

“It is with joy and pride that I take on the position of Executive Director of Centraide Outaouais, entrusted by the organization’s Board of Directors. For several months now, I have been working with volunteers and employees with pleasure and I am delighted to begin new challenges for the organization alongside them. We have many projects and ambitions in the coming years to continue to fight poverty and social exclusion by supporting community organizations in our region. It is therefore with great motivation that I begin my new duties,”  Tessier said.
