Candidates debate to be broadcast on CHIP 101.9 next Wednesday April 9th
Pontiac Community Radio will present the candidates’ debate for the Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi riding in the lead-up to the federal election on April 28.
Recorded before an audience at the Pontiac Conference Centre in Fort-Coulonge, this debate will feature candidates from the main parties: incumbent Liberal Party MP Sophie Chatel, Conservative Party candidate Brian Nolan, New Democrat Gilbert Whiteduck, Green Party representative Claude Bertrand, and People’s Party of Canada candidate as well as local businessman Todd Hoffman. Only the Bloc Québécois has not confirmed its presence, as no candidate has been announced for this party in the Pontiac. It should be noted that the Bloc Québécois was absent from the last two debates organized by CHIP 101.9.
The debate will be broadcast on the radio on Wednesday, April 9th, at 4 p.m. The video of the event should be available on YouTube on April 10.
For this 2025 edition, CHIP 101.9 is counting on three main partners: the regional print media Le Droit, the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce, and the Regional Association of West Quebecers. François Carrier, Executive Director of Le Droit and volunteer host of CHIP 101.9, will host the event with the help of the CHIP 101.9 team. He emphasized the importance of this type of event, which aims to help citizens make informed choices.
Holding a French license from the CRTC, but as a radio station that brings together all the Pontiac communities, CHIP will broadcast this debate in French and English.
