Canada Post: You Must Pay Your Bills Even If Mail Isn’t Delivered!

Canada Post: You Must Pay Your Bills Even If Mail Isn’t Delivered!

29 September 2025 à 2:08 pm

Canada Post employees have launched an immediate general strike. The delivery of mail and parcels through the national postal service is suspended for an indefinite period. Please note that delays in mail delivery do not exempt you from paying your bills: you are still required to pay your accounts on time, even if you have not received your payment notices.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has declared an immediate national strike for all its members. This announcement came just hours after the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement, Joël Lightbound, announced a series of measures, including ending home mail delivery and reducing the number of Canada Post delivery routes.

Starting Friday, and for an indefinite period, your bills and invoices will no longer arrive in your mailbox. However, it remains your responsibility to ensure that your accounts are paid on time.
