Although the changes in the ZIS Map have caused controversy in different municipalities such as L’Isle-aux-Allumettes and Chichester, where already hundred of residences have contacted the municipality demanding modifications, others, such as Campbell’s Bay, say they are happy with the modifications to a certain degree.

Yesterday, CHIP 101.9 contacted Mayor Maurice Beauregard, who explained that although happy with the adjustments that have been made so far, there’s is still work to be done:

Note that in the previous version of the ZIS map, the municipality of Campbell’s Bay was almost completely in the flood zone. According to Maurice Beauregard, since the changes, a few residents have still contacted the municipal office regarding adjustments to be made to their property and confirmed that most of the requests have come from Second street. The municipality is currently meeting with residents and assessing each case individually.

More details and reactions on this subject will be available soon and to find out more, you can listen to the full interview with Maurice Beauregard.
