Bill 40 Adopted: CSHBO Reacts
Bill 40, which modifies school organization systems and governance, was adopted under a gag order last Saturday, which received a number of reactions from people involved in school proceedings. For the director general of the Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais School Board (CSHBO), Denis Rossignol, this reform should not slow down the school projects implemented in recent months.
Tabled in l’Assemblée nationale on October 1st, Bill 40 aims, in particular, to replace school boards with “school service centers”, managed by a board of directors made up of parents, community representatives and school staff to assume administrative responsibilities.
As a reminder, MNA for Pontiac André Fortin mentioned in the fall that this law, once passed, could have a negative impact on the representation of bilingual rural areas, such as the Pontiac.
The Chair of the CSHBO Diane Nault also commented on the adoption of Bill 40 by gag order this week.
CSHBO is looking for new teachers
In a Facebook post, the Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais School Board (CSHBO) indicated that it was looking for “a large number of qualified teachers” to fill vacancies, full-time or part-time, in different fields during the 2020-2021 school year.
The deadline to apply is February 23rd, 2020.
