Better adapted equipment for children thanks to the donation of Operation Enfant Soleil
The $ 5,000 paid to the Pontiac Hospital by Opération Enfant Soleil can be used to purchase medical equipment, which may be very useful on certain occasions, for example when infants have to be transferred to another hospital center. The head of the pediatrics department at the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais, Dr. Geneviève Gaëtan, underlined that the donation from Operation Enfant Soleil allows, in the context of the Pontiac Hospital, to acquire equipment that will be used to obtain more precise measurements, when newborns must be transported to the Gatineau pediatric center.
“It is really essential to have equipment that allows us to keep children in our regional centers and, when necessary, to be able to transfer them to specialized centers in a safe and appropriate manner. It may seem trivial, but for example, a scale adapted to weigh a newborn baby makes all the difference in transferring precise data to the pediatric center, ”explains Dr. Geneviève Gaëtan.
To date, Opération Enfant Soleil has donated $ 82,952 to the Pontiac Hospital. The next Opération Enfant Soleil Telethon will take place on May 30 and will be broadcast on TVA. The French interview with Dr. Geneviève Gaëtan is available here.
