Assistance of over $36 million for municipalities in the Outaouais
Financial assistance of $ 36,431,229, funded equally between the governments of Quebec and Canada, will be granted to 68 municipalities in the Outaouais. In the riding of Pontiac, $ 1,232,408 will be given to the municipalities. The provincial deputy of Gatineau for the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) Robert Bussière explains;
At the most recent meeting of the MRC Pontiac, the mayor of Shawville, Sandra Murray, underlined the crying needs of her municipality to not see taxes increase significantly. Robert Bussière says he had the same observation from the mayors of his riding.
The financial assistance for all municipalities in Quebec is $ 800 million. It stems from an agreement between the governments of Quebec and Canada under the Security Relaunch Accord.
