An investigation in to the impact on the health of residents follow the 2019 floods

16 January 2020 à 12:00 am

Pontiac residents are invited to participate in a telephone survey aimed at documenting the consequences of the 2019 floods regarding the health of residents. Those who participate will be asked to respond to a questionnaire lasting approximately 20 minutes.

The survey aims to interview people who have been flooded, people with connections to the floods and people who were unaffected by the floods.

This approach is part of a broader research entitled: “sociosanitaire des inondations 2019, six mois plus tard : Optimiser les services de santé et l’intervention psychosociale post-désastre visant la résilience des collectivités aux extrêmes.” (flood health and safety 2019, six months later: Optimizing health and post-disaster psychosocial intervention services aimed at resilience of communities to extremes)

This survey will be conducted by several professors from different universities: the University of Sherbrooke, the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi (UQAC) and the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). About 3,000 people are expected to be interviewed across the Outaouais, Laurentians, Montérégie, Laval and the Montreal region.
