In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quebec government has set up the Program to help recovery through increased training (PARAF).

PARAF is a temporary emergency program that aims to requalify and upgrade the skills of people who are unemployed or who have become unemployed following the current situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It allows to :

– Support unemployed people or workers who need to re-qualify or upgrade their skills in order to take up quality jobs.

– Support employers who have to cope with the scarcity of labor by training qualified workers.

“PARAF offers financial support to unemployed people who register for a training program allowing re-qualification into sectors of activity where labor needs are a priority such as IT, health, construction, education and childcare services or towards trades and professions offering good employment prospects. This financial assistance represents an amount of $ 500 per week for the duration of the training “explains the director of the Regional Directorate of Services Québec de l’Outaouais, Alain Ranger.

“Anyone interested should contact the nearest Services Québec office. A resource person will assess their eligibility, situation and needs. She will determine with her if PARAF is the solution for her. It should be remembered, however, that this program is temporary and aims to encourage unemployed people to get moving quickly, “said the director of the Regional Directorate of Services Quebec in the Outaouais, Alain Ranger.
