Earlier this week, MRC Pontiac released their agendas for the upcoming April public meeting, which will take place on Wednesday April 16 at 6:30 p.m. (click here for the TNO meeting and the Regular MRC meeting).

Items of note include an update to the MRC’s communications policy, a management plan for the abattoir in Shawville, as well as a resolution of support for the protection of services at the CLSC in Low. Several local and regional news outlets have reported on statements from several officials that authorities were considering closing it and other local clinics as part of the ongoing budget cuts in the province’s health care system. Santé Quebec denied the allegations, but CISSSO CEO Marc Bilodeau hinted that more cuts were coming when he spoke with CHIP 101.9 back in March.

The public is invited to attend the meetings (which take place in the Elsie Gibbons room at their office in Campbell’s Bay), but it will also be streamed live to their Facebook page.
