A single case of COVID-19 in 48 hours in Outaouais
The most recent data concerning COVID-19 in the Outaouais indicate that only one case has been declared in the region in the last 48 hours.
Still no case has been listed to date in the MRC Pontiac. The cases detected in the Pontiac Réseau local de service (RLS) were observed in the municipality of Pontiac. The total now stands at 537 cases of the coronavirus in Outaouais.
On May 28, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) og the Outaouais announced the death of a first employee of the CHSLD Lionel-Émond in connection with COVID-19. The establishment said it was saddened by this news and wishes to offer the family, loved ones and colleges of this person all their sympathies at this difficult time. Support was also offered to employees by the CISSS de l’Outaouais psychosocial support team and the employee assistance program.
“I want to offer my sympathies to the family and loved ones. Losing a loved one is a painful ordeal, and in a context like this, it is even more difficult, said Josée Filion, president and CEO of the CISSS de l’Outaouais. I have a special thought for the teams at the CHSLD Lionel-Émond who have to face the loss of a colleague with great difficulty. This news shook the whole organization. The context of the COVID-19 pandemic is difficult for all staff, and the loss of a colleague is added today. I am wholeheartedly with them, ”she added.
To date, 18 deaths have been reported in connection with COVID-19 in the Outaouais. The number of hospitalizations rose to 14 at the designated center located in Hull, of which 2 people are in intensive care. There are 92 employees infected with the virus and 3 residences for the elderly are still affected by the virus.
Note that of the 537 cases of COVID-19 listed in the Outaouais region, almost 60% are now considered to be cured, or 322 cases.
At the provincial level, the most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 reports 295 new cases in the last 24 hours, which brings the total number of infected persons to 51 354. During this same period, 20 new deaths have been recorded, leading to a total of 4,661, while the number of hospitalizations has decreased by 13 to a total of 1,185. Of these, 163 are in intensive care, a decrease from 8.

-wash hands frequently with soap and water for twenty seconds, especially when arriving from outside;
– disinfect your hands with an alcohol-based solution if you do not have access to soap and water;
-maintain a distance of two meters with other people, or if this is not possible, wear a face covering, especially in public transport;
-avoid any indoor gathering;
-for any gathering in a private outdoor place, respect the maximum of 10 people. It is strongly recommended that these come from a maximum of three different addresses;
-limit his movements as much as possible.

-to cough inside his elbow;
– throw away your tissues immediately after use and wash your hands afterwards;
