A record number of 67 active cases in the Pontiac RLS
The increase of daily cases of COVID-19 has decreased in the Outaouais, with 83 cases according to the most recent data from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, but the situation remains worrying with 55 hospitalizations in progress, including 5 in intensive care.
More than double the number of cases in less than a month
The number of active cases in the Pontiac Local Service Network (RLS), due in large part to the outbreak at the Pontiac Hospital, peaked with 67. The number of COVID-19 cases in the Pontiac has has experienced a sharp increase in the past month, reaching 265 cases since the start of the pandemic. For comparison, the number of COVID-19 cases in the Pontiac RLS was 101 on March 30. In less than a month, the increase has been particularly significant in the communities of Fort-Coulonge and Mansfield, which have a record of 72 cases since the start of the pandemic. It should also be noted that in the Outaouais territory, 58 employees of the CISSS de l’Outaouais are currently infected with COVID-19.
