A new summery of the Outaouais communities
A new summery of the Outaouais communities
The Observatoire du développement de l’Outaouais (ODO) launched an updated version of the compendium of the communities in the Outaouais, Tuesday, which brings together demographics, the socioeconomic situation and socio-health data, separated into 109 communities, including 5 in the Pontiac.
The agente de transfert de connaissances ODO, Madeleine Lefebvre, gave more details on its usefulness.
Division of communities in the Pontiac:
– Rapides-des-Joachims, Sheenboro, Chichester, Waltham, L’Isle-aux-Allumettes
– Mansfield-et-Pontefract, Fort-Coulonge
– Litchfield, L’Ile-du-Grand-Calumet, Campbell’s Bay, Bryson
– Thorne, Otter Lake
– Shawville, Portage-du-Fort, Clarendon
Note: Bristol is included in zone 26 (Sault-des-Chats (Pontiac) – Sectors: Quyon, Bristol), while Alleyn-et-Cawood is in zone 12 (Kazabazua, Lac-Sainte-Marie, Low, Alleyn-et-Cawood).
This update was expected by those working in social and economic development in the Outaouais. For the Warden Jane Toller, this framework will allow the elected officials in the region to target the priorities included in the strategic plan for the next 10 years more effectively.
Workshops will be held over the next few weeks across the Outaouais to allow residents, community workers, development officers, elected officials and other interested stakeholders to learn how to use the data from the summery to better meet the needs of their environment.
The summery of the Outaouais communities was produced for the first time between 2009 and 2012. Its update was planned in the activities of the ODO since its creation in 2018.
