A new magical event in 2026: the Gatineau Christmas Village
Gatineau is preparing for a major milestone with the arrival of its very first Christmas Village, scheduled for December 2026. This nationally significant event will transform the outdoor grounds of the Canadian Museum of History, in the Hull sector, into a truly magical setting. Designed as a large winter gathering for the whole family, the Christmas Village will offer a wide range of immersive, festive, and accessible activities. Alexandre Van Dieren, co-founder of CINQDIXQUINZE and Orkestra, shares all the details:
The event is designed to be inclusive: children will have free access to all attractions, while adults will benefit from an affordable entry fee.
From its very first edition, the organizers aim to welcome over 40,000 visitors, generating significant tourism and economic benefits for Gatineau and the wider Outaouais region. The Christmas Village is part of a broader strategy to position Gatineau as a must-visit winter destination in Canada.
The project is led by CINQDIXQUINZE, in collaboration with Orkestra and the Canadian Museum of History, the Village’s official host and major partner. A total of more than $2 million will be invested in developing the necessary infrastructure.
