A grieving community

Following a fire in a residence on Murray Road in the Masham sector of the municipality of La Pêche, which occurred last Saturday, two bodies were found Sunday in the rubble of the burnt down home.

An autopsy will be performed on the bodies later this week to confirm the identity of the victims and the cause of death, but these are believed to be the two missing girls. The Public Security of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais said that for the moment, no exact cause has been identified to explain the origin of the fire.

The man inside the residence at the time of the incident was being treated for non-life threatening injuries. But as for the woman, she was transferred to a Montreal hospital to treat serious injuries that would no longer endanger her life.

The tragedy affected all of the Outaouais, several fire departments across the region wanted to extend their condolences to the family and the community of La Pêche.
