New attempt to create CISSSO users committee

Regional health authority CISSSO has published a job offer for the post of a resource person to set up the users and residents committee for the territory of Pontiac. MRC Pontiac is unique among the territories of the Outaouais in that it has never had a users committee since the centralization of the health care system in 2015. Since his recent hiring to the CISSSO’s administrative council, Rémi Bertrand has said that he wants to re-establish such a committee, pointing out that it would allow Pontiacers to submit their comments to improve certain services.

“This is the way to be heard. So, whether it’s something like a suggestion for improvement, whether it’s in relation to a constraint, whether it’s in relation to an operation that is not well suited for the Pontiac territory, each territory of the Outaouais is different. So that’s really the reason for being able to express our opinion or our voice of the Pontiac to the administration of the CISSSO. Since the overhaul of the Quebec health system, we have seen the creation of integrated centers, which therefore cover the entire Outaouais. And as of today, all the other regions are already organized so we are talking about the Gatineau Valley, the territory of the Collines de l’Outaouais, Papineau and the city of Gatineau already have their users’ committee in place remains the Pontiac.”
– Rémi Bertrand (translated)

The selected person must have a good knowledge of French and English, have a good sense of organization and will be tasked with recruiting members for the users’ committee, receiving requests from this committee and ensuring follow-ups. To submit their application interested persons can write to the following address: cuci_outaouais@sss.gouv.qc.ca or call 819-770-6528. The complete (French-language) interview with Bertrand is available below.
