6 tornadoes hit the Ottawa-Gatineau region

According to a preliminary weather summary issued by Environment Canada on Tuesday afternoon, a total of six tornadoes reportedly struck the Ottawa-Gatineau area last Friday. One of them hit 25 kilometers north of Otter Lake in the MRC Pontiac. Satellite images, studied by Environment and Climate Change Canada’s investigation team, detected the damage caused by the approximately 3-kilometer trajectory of the EF1 tornado on the Fujita scale, which traveled through a forested area.

On Monday Environment Canada and Climate Change Canada confirmed three tornadoes, two in Ontario, one of which was an EF1 Tornado which struck the White Lake area near Calabogie, in Quebec an EF3 affected the municipalities of Pontiac and Gatineau. Two more EF1 tornadoes were reportedly detected in the Val-des-Bois area and near the Baskatong Reservoir, about 30 kilometers east of Mont-Laurier.
