Approximately 500 people were in attendance for the 2019 Fort-Coulonge/Mansfield Carnival and former Montreal Canadians Hockey Game over the weekend. In this entertaining game, the local team was no match for the retired Canadians as they started off the game scoring 7 goals in the first period. The second, wiping the board clean, the Canadians made 2 goals and ended the game losing to the local team (Comets) 4-3. There were many highlights and demonstration of skill during the game from the former Montreal Canadians, but one being the more surprising performance of the day was that of the Mayor of Fort-Coulonge, Gaston Allard, who played in nets for the local team and made a few incredible saves highlighting the second period.

On the monetary side of things, the fifty-fifty draw raised a total of $980 and as a reminder, the Carnival is a fundraiser for the Centre des Loisirs des Draveurs. This game that gather the likes of Guy Cabonneau, Stéphane Riché and Jocklyn Lemieux was full of skill, gags and fun plays, and was certainly an entertaining game for the community.
