$37k available for local students through Pontiac Scholarship Fund

Pontiac students pursuing post-secondary education can get a little boost in their finances through the Pontiac Scholarship Fund, which is distributing 37 $1,000 bursaries this year.

Long-time president of the fund Robert Pelletier explained that the program started back in 1989 and has grown significantly since its inception. The bursaries are funded through donations from local municipalities, individuals and non-profit organizations.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary or adult education program and be from the Municipality of Pontiac or MRC Pontiac. The deadline to apply is Friday June 7.
