$3 million to accelerate prostate cancer research in Canada
On March 25th, 2026, Société de recherche sur le cancer, in collaboration with PROCURE, announced a $3 million investment to support research on Prostate Cancer.
Originally intended to fund four projects, the program ultimately selected six due to the exceptional quality of the proposals received. Each team will receive $500,000 in funding over three years following an evaluation by an international committee of experts.
The projects cover several major areas, including biomarker development, advanced medical imaging, precision nutrition, and new targeted therapeutic approaches. They are led by researchers from institutions including Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval, and University of British Columbia.
The program aims to improve early detection, better understand the mechanisms of the disease, and accelerate the development of more personalized treatments, at a time when Prostate Cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among men in Canada.
