Several organizations and politicians met yesterday at the Lions Club in Bryson to unveil the various projects in the new $2.5 million agreement slated for vitalization and development in the MRC Pontiac. A sum of $2,623,469.64 to be exact was granted  to support 29 vitalization projects in the MRC Pontiac.

The MNA for Pontiac, André Fortin, highlighted the vision behind the new funds for the various municipalities in the Pontiac, he says there were focused on six sectors geared towards revitalizing quality of life and youth services.

The Coalition avenir Québec MNA for Gatineau, Robert Bussière, was also present for the announcement, speaking on behalf of the Minister of Municipal Affairs, Andrée Laforest, he says it’s wonderful to see the realization of a $1,249,998 agreement with the MRC Pontiac to stimulate entrepreneurial development, insisting that his party, the CAQ, is the party focused on regions.

“I think that’s very important. Today, we came to announce an investment of just over a million dollars that will allow 29 projects in the MRC Pontiac to see the light of day. An MRC like this where life is not necessarily obvious. There is a lot of poverty. The population, we are starting to experience growth, which we had experienced for several years of decline. Our world is changing with the coming of the pandemic and also with high speed internet. We are one of the first provinces that is in the process of completing the connection to the Internet. And, it’s going to change our world, all of that.”
– Robert Bussière, Deputy for Gatineau of the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ)

The Warden of the MRC Pontiac Jane Toller was also present for the announcement, saying she was thrilled to see this revitalization projects getting funded locally, to improve the overall health and quality of life in the Pontiac.
