The Municipality of Pontiac received just over $2 million in financial aid from the Ministry of Transportation’s Local Roads Assistance Program (PAVL) to help fund two sizable projects.

The Mountain Road rehabilitation project will account for $1,042,528 of the funding while the remainder, $1,245,397, will be spent on repairs to Tremblay Road.

“This is excellent news for the citizens of the Municipality. These investments are essential to the improvement of our road infrastructure and will undoubtedly contribute to the development of our local community,” Mayor Joanne Labadie stated in a press release.

Mountain Road

– the financial assistance covers work that was performed on a 2 km stretch of the road last fall, from Crégheur Road towards Chelsea

– the second phase of that work will start in August and last until October, consisting of replacing culverts and repairing the road

Tremblay Road

– the work targets a 4 km section of the road from Lamoureux Road to Hwy. 148, consisting of profiling the ditches, repairing the road and paving

– the work began on July 5 and will last until October
