21-year-old from Campbell’s Bay nabbed for speeding, fleeing police
Just after 6:15 a.m. this morning (April 13), Sûreté du Québec officers from the Campbell’s Bay detachment clocked a speeding vehicle eastbound on Hwy. 148 in Bristol. The driver refused to stop and a short chase ensued. Officers were able to stop the vehicle on Baird Road in Bristol and arrested the driver, a 21 year-old man from Campbell’s Bay.
He was released on a promise to appear, and when he is due at the Campbell’s Bay Courthouse he could face charges of fleeing police. He was also hit with a statement of offence for $1,613 and 18 demerit points for doing 175 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. His license was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was towed.
