$200 worth of hockey equipment for École Sainte-Anne de l’Îsle-aux-Allumettes

École Sainte-Anne de l’Îsle-aux-Allumette can now offer their students the chance to play field hockey in their schoolyard, thanks to a $200 donation from the Catholic Women’s League of Bryson.

Grade 1 and 2 teacher Manon Newberry said she was pleasantly surprised by the donation, as the school normally relies on its own resources to purchase equipment:

The donation was used to purchase 12 field hockey sticks and two mini nets. Newberry said she was “touched” by the CWL’s involvement, especially as this was the first time the Catholic Women’s League had organized a fund-raising event and chosen their school to receive the money raised.
