17 patients and 13 employees now positive

According to the most recent update from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais on April 27, 17 patients and 13 employees tested positive following the outbreak in Pontiac Hospital located in Shawville. None of the infected patients has been transferred.

“The red zone that was created allowed us to keep patients and not to transfer them to the unit in Hull,” confirmed the CISSS de l’Outaouais.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais reiterates that the number of nurses available is sufficient.

“We have enough human resources right now. All the measures are in place and we are monitoring the situation closely. Until now, we have always managed to find replacements, ”confirmed the CISSS de l’Outaouais.

The CISSS said it had put in place all infection prevention and control measures following the announcement.
