14 of the 21 projects selected under the Regional Support Fund (FARR) program will have an impact on the Pontiac. Of the 21 projects, announced Monday by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy and Minister of Public Security, Martin Coiteux, tabled by regional organizations and selected by the Wardens of the 4 MRCs of the Outaouais and the Mayor of Gatineau, 14 programs will have an impact on the Pontiac.

The MRC estimates that the following projects will have a significant impact on Pontiac communities.

$ 6,000 Strategic Conference on Energy Transition
$ 53,362 Opportunity to study on the development of a network of agri-food platforms
$ 50,000 An agreement to strengthen ties between the cultural and educational communities
$ 245,913 Start-Up of the Outaouais Mobile Factory
$ 55,000 Outdoor Web Portal
$ 140,000 Heading West program
$ 73,464 Second Language Training (French) for Anglophones
$ 490,482 Regional development of passenger transportation in rural Outaouais
$ 26,528 Gourmet Outaouais Course Application
$ 70,000 Waterway system
$ 72,970 CAPNAT network: infrastructure for research and monitoring of ecosystem services
$ 355,000 Strengthen the competitive position of the Outaouais in relation to its neighboring regions by educating, hosting, and planning
$ 161,416 Optimization of waste management in Outaouais and the National Capital Region

The MRC’s Warden, Jane Toller, mentioned that the Pontiac MRC will make sure to submit “more applications for funding that will have an even greater impact” during the next round of project submissions.

Mme Jane Toller said that “I believe that since 14 of the 21 approved projects affect the Pontiac, the entire region will benefit significantly. It is important that we collaborate with the other 4 RCMs in the region. In the next round we will ensure that the Pontiac will file more funding applications that will have even greater impact”.
