Up to $100,000 in grants will be offered to businesses across the province to train their employees and review their organization in view of resuming activities after the COVID-19 Pandemic.
A program called “Concerted temporary action program for businesses” (PACTE) was announced Monday afternoon by the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Solidarity, Jean Boulet.
This envelope, which totals $100 million, aims to help companies cover the costs of training activities as well as for the organization of work. Eligible training programs can, among other things, include digital training related to tele-work, health issues, organizational communication and improvement of digital understanding. Companies are invited to promote online or working from home training and must comply with the health measures in force as part of the training courses.
The government has therefore offered to reimburse businesses 100% of the expenses they will incur in this, for example for the cost of the trainer, the purchase of equipment as well as human resources management activities, up to $ 100,000.
The wages of workers in training will be reimbursed according to the following terms: up to a maximum of $ 25 an hour for 25% to 100% of the total hours paid. This will be adjusted according to the federal government financial aid plan.
For the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, companies will be able to take advantage of the current break to give these training activities. “This is a golden opportunity to prepare our businesses for the future,” he said in his daily press briefing. At the same time, it will keep people at work, ”he added.
