Pontiac Community Players’ new comedy hits the stage next week

21 January 2025 à 2:37 pm

Local theatre troupe the Pontiac Community Players will be performing a new comedy at Pontiac High School at the end of the month, from a playwright known for his stories about small-town life.

Director Val Twolan-Graham explained that they had chosen another piece by renowned Canadian playwright Norm Foster entitled “Halfway There”, which is a comedy about a new doctor arriving in a small community in the Maritimes and joining a group of friends that meet to gossip at the local diner. She said she really enjoyed working on Foster’s play “Hilda’s Yard” a few years back and decided to try another of his works.

The shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Pontiac High School on January 30, 31 and February 1.

This is Twolan-Graham’s fourth time directing with the community players and said that the cast and crew are a mix of new members and returning veterans.

Tickets are $25 and are available at Hursty’s Restauarant in Shawville.
