François Carrier honored with Résonance award
Quebec City’s Château Laurier recently hosted Les Jours de la Radio, a flagship event for the province’s French-language radio industry. Organized by the Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec (ARCQ), the gathering brought together over a hundred participants at the end of November to reflect on the challenges and future of this essential medium.
A highlight of the conference was the presentation of the prestigious Résonance Awards, which highlighted the exceptional commitment of two leading figures in community radio. François Carrier, former director of CHIP 101.9 and ex-president of ARCQ, was honored for his key role in promoting community radio.
Carrier has helped solidify the station’s role in the community, and in a French-language interview with CHIP, he took the opportunity to look back on the highlights of his career in the Pontiac.
Still involved in regional news as general manager of Le Droit, Carrier also mentioned the big issues to watch out for in 2025.
About ARCQ
Since its founding in 1979, ARCQ has represented 37 community radio stations across Quebec. True to its mission to unite and promote this sector, the association continues to play a crucial role in the future of local broadcasting.
