Freezing rain warning for Tuesday morning

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Pontiac and a good deal of western Quebec, as between 5 to 10 cm of precipitation is expected Tuesday morning (November 25).

“The situation could persist for several hours into the early afternoon,” the statement reads. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.”

The forecast also calls for periods of snow starting on Friday and heading into the weekend. This first taste of winter weather comes just before the December 1 deadline for winter tires on Quebec-plated vehicles.
