Two arrests for impaired driving over weekend

The Sûreté du Québec announced in a press release that they had nabbed two Pontiac men for impaired driving in separate incidents over the weekend.

The first took place at around 7 p.m. on Saturday (September 14) on chemin Picanoc in Otter Lake, where officers were called to a collision involving an off-road vehicle. The driver, a 45-year-old man from Clarendon was taken to hospital with minor injuries and arrested for impaired driving. He was released with a date at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse.

The second incident took place at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning (September 15) where police were called about a vehicle leaving the road on chemin de la Montagne in Sheenboro. After conducting checks, officers arrested the driver, a 49-year-old man from l’Isle-aux-Allumettes, for having a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit. In addition to a date at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse, his license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
