Clarendon sunflower field open for second season

Clarendon sunflower field open for second season

6 August 2024 à 3:29 pm

Those driving along Hwy. 148 in Clarendon may have noticed a golden hue emerging from a field on Radford Road, as a 15 acre patch of sunflowers have begun to bloom. The Barn Sunflower Farm is in its second year, offering an idyllic backdrop for photoshoots as well as several recurring activities such as yoga and group painting over the course of August. Flowers will be available for $1 a stem.

Organizer Kendal Lang explained that they had downsized from last year’s 80 acre experiment, and said that they will be using their harvest for birdseed, distributed through the Bait Bin located at the Giant Tiger in Shawville.

The field will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, with the final day tentatively planned for August 23. Parking is available on site and admission is $10 per car.

The full interview with Lang (4m30) is available here.
