Highway accident near Quyon sends Pontiac woman to hospital

An early morning collision on Hwy. 148 near Quyon sent a Pontiac woman to hospital with major injuries.

At around 4:30 a.m. on February 1, two occupants were trying to push a stalled vehicle off the eastbound lane of the highway just outside Quyon when they were struck by another vehicle. MRC des Collines police spokesperson Martin Fournel explained that the victim, a 30-year-old woman from Ile-du-Grand-Calumet, and a passenger, a 28-year-old man from Ile-du-Grand-Calumet,  were outside their vehicle trying to push it off the highway when they were struck by another vehicle heading east.

Fournel said that the initial report was that the victim’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening and she was sent to Hull Hospital. The passenger as well as the driver of the other vehicle were not physically injured.
