JOB OFFER GARDENING ASSISTANT

LE JARDIN ÉDUCATIF DU PONTIAC is a non-profit community organization that offers services to young people aged 8 to 17 with academic, social, and family adjustment difficulties. During the summer, we operate a day camp for youth aged 12 to 17 years old focusing on ecological agriculture, vegetable production and lawn mowing.

Description:

Work in collaboration with the head gardener. Perform all tasks related to the realization and maintenance of a market garden, lawn mowing and landscaping. Prepare and sell garden products. Help supervise and teach campers the tasks to be done. Serve as a role model for camp participants. Perform any other tasks related to the smooth operation of the camp and garden.

Skills and Competencies:

– Knowledge of vegetable production and sales skills.

– Ability to work as a team and individually.

– Ability to work with small machinery for gardening and mowing.

– Ability to prioritize.

– Ability to work independently, with a sense of responsibility, organization, and initiative.

– Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to the weather.

– Ability to work in a group setting and with young people aged 12 to 17 and to act as a role model.

– Bilingualism.

Employment Requirements:

– Must be a student or not, between the ages of 15 and 30.

– Schedule: 35 to 40 hours/week.

– Salary: 16,25$/hour.

– Seasonal employment, June to August

– Have no legal impediments related to the job.
