Kim Lesage moves from MRC Pontiac’s interim director general to permanent role
At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting last night (February 15), Kim Lesage was officially named to the director general role on a permanent basis, after serving in an interim capacity since November. She took over the top bureaucratic position at the office from Bernard Roy, who resigned suddenly in early November.
She explained that she thought hard over the Christmas break about whether she wanted to take on the role. She added that there were four candidates including herself who were interviewed for the post.
Lesage was formerly the MRC’s engineer before she took on the interim DG position, and said that she wouldn’t keep any municipalities hanging with planned projects, but wouldn’t be able to take on anything new. She added that they would be putting out a job posting shortly for an engineer, and depending on the response, she would be willing to mentor a junior engineer in that role.
