Fort-Coulonge boil water advisory lifted

The residents of Fort-Coulonge, as well as some sectors of Mansfield will be breathing a sigh of relief, as the town’s months-long boil-water advisory has been lifted as of today (November 14).

The municipality issued a press release this afternoon confirming that the town’s water was safe to consume. The boil advisory was initially put in place in the summer, due to a malfunctioning electronic component. The part was difficult to source, and was finally delivered in early September.

However, as Mayor Christine Francoeur explained to CHIP 101.9 in October, another part broke while they were flushing the lines and they had to extend the advisory.
